Rod Stewart canceled his Encore Shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30, following his doctor's advice as he recovers from a sinus infection, a move that removed two headline weekend dates from the residency schedule.
The two performances, each listed for 7:30 p.m. on Ticketmaster, were shown on the site as canceled and accompanied by a Ticketmaster message to buyers: "Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event." Refunds were offered for affected tickets.
Stewart addressed fans directly in a short statement, apologizing and explaining his condition: "My apologies to my family of fans," he said. "I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection." He added that he "look[s] forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer." The cancellation came after he performed on Wednesday night in Las Vegas and while other dates in the run remained on the calendar.
The canceled shows are part of Stewart's Encore Shows residency, a run at the Colosseum that dates to 2012 and that surpassed 200 performances in March 2025. The current installment was scheduled to run through early June, with a second set of dates planned for August and additional residency dates still listed later in the year.
For ticket holders the practical consequence was immediate: the two weekend shows were removed from Ticketmaster's listings and refunds were made available. The site displayed the May 29 and May 30 dates as canceled; a separate show earlier in the week and a Tuesday performance were still listed as scheduled in local reporting.
The cancellation also revived an immediate scheduling question. Stewart was scheduled to return with shows beginning June 2, but the last-minute removal of the May 29–30 dates — announced hours before the weekend performances — leaves his planned June restart unconfirmed in available statements and listings. The Las Vegas Review-Journal noted the Tuesday show remained scheduled, and future August dates, including Aug. 18–20, were still on the calendar.
Stewart's residency has seen interruptions before: he has missed several shows in June in prior years because of illness. He also has the One Last Time tour slated for this summer, which he referenced in his message that looked ahead to tour dates as well as future Caesars Palace performances.
What fans know now is straightforward: the May 29 and May 30 Colosseum shows are canceled, Ticketmaster is issuing refunds, and Stewart says he is on vocal rest while recovering from a sinus infection. What remains unresolved is whether he will be ready to resume the residency when shows were scheduled to begin again on June 2; that return date is still listed but not confirmed by the singer or venue statements released with the cancellations.
