Amazon Luna Ends Third-Party Game Purchases
Amazon Luna has announced significant changes that will impact how players purchase and access games on the platform. Starting on June 10, 2026, users will no longer be able to buy third-party games and subscriptions.
End of Third-Party Game Purchases
The cloud gaming service will discontinue support for third-party stores like EA, Ubisoft, and GOG. As a result, previously purchased titles will still remain accessible via the respective accounts on these platforms, but not through Amazon Luna.
Subscription Changes
Amazon Luna will also end subscriptions to Ubisoft Plus and Jackbox Games. Active subscriptions made through Luna will be canceled at the close of the current billing cycle.
Removal of “Bring Your Own Library”
From June 3, 2026, Amazon Luna will eliminate the “Bring Your Own Library” feature. This change means players can no longer access titles from third-party platforms within Luna.
No Refunds for Game Purchases
Importantly, Amazon Luna has stated it will not offer refunds for any third-party games bought through its platform.
Game Subscription Plans
Players can still enjoy games included in Amazon Luna’s subscription plans. The Luna Standard plan, available with a $14.99 subscription to Amazon Prime, features titles such as:
- EA Sports FC 26
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Skyrim
- Death Stranding
Meanwhile, the Luna Premium plan, priced at $9.99 per month, includes a broader selection, which features:
- Alien: Isolation
- Borderlands 3
- Sonic Frontiers
Future Directions
Brittney Hefner, a spokesperson for Amazon Luna, emphasized the service is shifting away from certain purchasing models. Hefner mentioned that the company is focused on long-term strategies that better serve customers’ needs. Amazon plans to continue investing in a diverse range of gaming experiences, ensuring availability of top-tier third-party titles through its subscription model.
These changes reflect Amazon Luna’s commitment to evolving its service to meet customer expectations in the competitive cloud gaming environment.
