Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani announced on June 8, 2026 that Bryant Park will serve as an additional public watch party location for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, giving New Yorkers another free place to gather as the Knicks return to Madison Square Garden.
The Bryant Park site is free and open to the public but requires registration and is capped at 5,000 attendees, Mamdani said. Knicks watch parties will also be held in Central Park and at Brooklyn Bowl, offering multiple outdoor options for fans deciding where to watch knicks game in the city.
Games 3 and 4 are set for Madison Square Garden, and the mayor framed the extra screening as a response to extraordinary constraints around the arena this week. "These watch parties have become a celebration of New York City itself," Mamdani said. "From every borough and every neighborhood, this city has come together to cheer on the Knicks and share in a moment that belongs to all of us."
City officials moved to add Bryant Park after the U.S. Secret Service and the NYPD determined that a watch party could not be held outside Madison Square Garden because of heightened security requirements tied to President Trump's attendance at Game 3. Mamdani said, "That’s why we’re adding Bryant Park as an additional watch party location, so even more fans can be part of this incredible Knicks Finals run."
Organizers and local venues are offering a range of options. Time Out Market New York in DUMBO will show both games across two floors with free admission and seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Brooklyn venues are pitching in: Baker’s Bar in Bay Ridge has emerged as a hub for fans, Park Life BK in Gowanus has hosted each game and will continue for Games 3 and 4, and Brooklyn Bowl will hold public screenings alongside the Bryant Park and Central Park events.
Indoor and ticketed options remain available. The Kent Theatre in Coney Island is hosting watch-party events that require RSVP and a $15 entry fee, with doors opening at 8 p.m. Black Forest Brooklyn in Cobble Hill is staging large watch parties with ticket packages ranging from $34 to $84.
Mamdani closed his announcement with a simple invitation: "Whether you join us in Bryant Park, Central Park or at Brooklyn Bowl, we invite New Yorkers to come together and support our team. Let’s go Knicks." The addition of Bryant Park expands capacity for communal viewing but leaves a practical question unresolved: the city confirmed that registration is required for the Bryant Park event, but it has not published how New Yorkers can sign up.
The single most consequential unanswered item now is the registration process for Bryant Park. Organizers must provide those details before fans can reliably plan which venue to attend; until then, supporters choosing where to watch knicks game will be limited to the published options and to the ticketed or first-come venues listed by Brooklyn hosts and market operators.
