Missing Persons Las Vegas alert canceled after Raul Soriano found dead

North Las Vegas police canceled a missing and endangered alert for after updating that the 75-year-old had been found dead. The alert had gone out Friday night, then was withdrawn after police said the search had ended in death.

Soriano was last seen Wednesday, June 3, at about 3 a.m. at his residence in the 2600 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard, according to police. Officers said he left home in an unknown direction to go to the store and never came back.

Police described Soriano as an Asian man about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 130 pounds, with short white hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a T-shirt, black pants and a black hat. Police also said he walked slowly with a noticeable limp, was not wearing his dentures, had no teeth and had diabetes that required medication.

The missing-person notice had been issued because officers believed Soriano was endangered, and it asked the public for help finding him. That search ended with the update that he had been found dead, but police did not say how he died or release any further details about the circumstances.

Anyone with information was asked to call the at 702-633-9111. For now, the remaining question is the one police have not answered: what led to Soriano's death.
