Missing Person Alert canceled after North Las Vegas man found dead

North Las Vegas police canceled a missing and endangered alert for 75-year-old after updating the public that he had been found dead Wednesday. The notice ended the search for the man, who was reported missing after leaving home to go to the store and never returning.

Police first released the alert Friday night for Soriano, who was last seen Wednesday, June 3, at about 3 a.m. at his residence in the 2600 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard. He was described as an Asian man, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 130 pounds, with short white hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a T-shirt, black pants and a black hat.

The alert identified Soriano as a vulnerable missing person. Police said he walked slowly with a noticeable limp, was not wearing his dentures, had no teeth and had diabetes that required medication. Those details had made the search more urgent, especially as the days passed without word from him.

After the update that he had been found dead, learned from police that no foul play was suspected. The department did not say how or where Soriano died. Anyone who had information about his whereabouts had been asked to call the at 702-633-9111.

The case now rests on a single unanswered point: the alert is over, but police have not explained what happened between the moment Soriano left his home and the day he was found dead.
