Sony confirmed the PlayStation Plus monthly games for June 2026: Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, and Nickelodeon All‑Star Brawl 2 will be available to PlayStation Plus members from Tuesday, June 2 until Monday, July 6.
Wesley plans to try Darktide first; he called it "one of the best Warhammer 40,000 games around."
The lineup arrives with a few moving pieces: EA Sports FC 26 will remain available as a PlayStation Plus Monthly Game only until June 16, Destiny 2: Legacy Collection including The Final Shape expansion becomes available for Extra and Premium/Deluxe members on June 9, and PlayStation Plus members have until Tuesday, June 2 to add Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Nine Sols to their libraries.
Sony announced the June PlayStation Plus Essential games earlier than usual, on 26 May, and confirmed the three monthly titles that start on June 2; the full Game Catalog lineup, it said, will be revealed next month. Darktide — which launched on PC in 2022 after a rough start but is now described as in much better shape — also has new content arriving on June 23, when a Skitarii class is scheduled to land.
The timing matters because this slate follows a companywide price increase for all PlayStation Plus tiers for new subscribers. The 12‑month subscription option remains unchanged, and as Wesley noted, "As Sony had announced, these price changes do not apply to current subscribers (except in Turkey and India) unless the existing subscription changes or lapses."
That contradiction — fresh, free access to headline titles for subscribers against a backdrop of higher costs for newcomers — is already visible in the reaction from the service’s community. "Don't think I’ll play any of them unfortunately," wrote Rlexii. "These are all a pass for me," added Grand_Engineering415. Another user summed up broader frustration: "I feel like it’s been months since there’s been anything worthwhile to actually play on the monthly catalogue." A more open‑minded take came from Flottrooster: "I'll give 'em a shot. Nothing that automatically catches my interest, but you never know unless you try it."
For players making purchase decisions, the calendar is straightforward: add Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Nine Sols by June 2 if you want them forever; pick up Darktide, Grounded Fully Yoked Edition and Nickelodeon All‑Star Brawl 2 from June 2 through July 6; plan for Destiny 2: Legacy Collection to arrive for higher tiers on June 9; and remember EA Sports FC 26 drops out of the monthly rotation on June 16.
The tension is real: Sony is betting that high‑profile inclusions and a rolling stream of catalog additions will justify the earlier price move for new subscribers, while protecting existing accounts from the change. The community reaction suggests that for some members the monthly catalogue’s perceived depth matters as much as headline names.
How this plays out over the summer will determine whether those bets hold. If the extra and premium additions such as Destiny 2’s Legacy Collection and periodic content updates to titles like Darktide keep engagement up, Sony may steady churn; if the monthly Essentials continue to draw lukewarm responses, the company’s price changes for new subscribers could blunt the service’s appeal over time.
