Dawn Staley’s Reaction to Jerzy Robinson Joining South Carolina
Jerzy Robinson, a five-star guard, signed with South Carolina on Dec. 23. She announced her decision live on ESPN. ESPN listed her at No. 5 in the 2026 class when she committed but now ranks her No. 6.
Robinson is 6-foot and plays at Sierra Canyon High School in California. She chose the Gamecocks over LSU and UConn. South Carolina beat both programs this season.
Recruiting context and roster moves
This is South Carolina’s third signed recruit in the 2026 cycle. It is the fourth roster addition this season. Forward Alicia Tournebize, a 6-foot-7 freshman from France, enrolled early in January.
Center Kelsi Andrews is a 6-4 player and was the No. 30 recruit. She committed on Oct. 7. Forward Kaeli Wynn, a 6-2 wing and the No. 19 recruit, committed on Nov. 10. Both signed during the early period.
Robinson is the highest-ranked player Dawn Staley has landed since Joyce Edwards. Edwards was No. 3 in the class of 2023. Robinson’s recruitment represents a major boost for the program.

In her senior season, she averaged 21.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. Those numbers underline her scoring and playmaking impact. Recruit evaluators noted her all-level scoring ability.
Official visits and campus fit
Robinson made an official visit to Columbia in October. She attended South Carolina’s exhibition game on Oct. 24 and sat behind the bench. The next day she joined players and coach Staley at the football game.
She was pictured with A’ja Wilson, fresh off becoming the WNBA’s first four-time MVP. Those visits helped solidify the fit between Robinson and the program. South Carolina expects her to integrate quickly.
