Kenyan Authorities Arrest Four in Scot’s Death Investigation
Kenyan authorities have arrested four men in connection with the killing of Scottish businessman Campbell Scott. Scott was attending a conference in Nairobi before he vanished. The arrests form part of the wider Scot’s death investigation.
Arrests and suspects
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations confirmed the apprehensions. Those detained are Bernard Mbusu, Isaac Kinoti Kobia, Evans Muthengi Mutaki and Kelvin Mwangi Njoroge. They were arrested at the Ideal Apartments in Ukunda on the coast.
Evidence recovered
Officers searched the property and seized several stolen items. Recovered property included devices, foreign currency, banking cards and cheque books.

Crime scene and investigation
Scott’s body was found in a forest in February 2025. Investigators say he had been tortured and his hands bound. His corpse was placed in a sack reportedly packed with pineapples, and the death is being treated as murder.
Links to other crimes and custody
Police say the four belong to a gang behind violent robberies. Investigators mentioned an incident that involved an American national. All four suspects are held at Nyali Police Station pending further enquiries.
Two other suspects have already appeared in court. Prosecutors will review the evidence before charging decisions are made.
