Razorbacks Dominate Tide with Series-Clinching Victory in Tuscaloosa

Arkansas delivered a decisive 15-6 victory over No. 8 Alabama at Sewell-Thomas Stadium in Tuscaloosa. The No. 22 Razorbacks improved to 23-13 overall and 7-7 in SEC play.

Series secured and milestones

The win clinched Arkansas’ second SEC road weekend series of the season. The Razorbacks earned their first series victory in Tuscaloosa since 2019.

Arkansas sealed the weekend with dominant late innings. A sweep would mark the program’s first road series sweep of Alabama since 2015.

Offense ignites late

Arkansas scored five runs in both the eighth and ninth innings to break the game open. The Hogs entered the eighth holding a one-run lead.

The lineup produced 15 runs on 14 hits, supplemented by two walks and two hit batsmen. Alabama’s bullpen surrendered 11 runs on nine hits and two walks over three relief innings.

Standout hitters

  • TJ Pompey went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, and four RBI. He delivered a three-run homer in the eighth and an RBI single in the ninth.
  • Kuhio Aloy had three hits and an RBI.
  • Carter Rutenbar finished 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI.
  • Nolan Souza added two hits, including a double, and three RBI.
  • Damian Ruiz returned from injury and went 1-for-2, scored twice, drew two walks, and recorded an RBI single.

Pitching report

Cole Gibler made his first career start. He worked 4.1 innings, allowed three runs (two earned), and struck out two.

Steele Eaves and Colin Fisher combined for 4.2 innings of relief. Eaves tossed 1.2 innings with one run allowed and three strikeouts. Fisher added three innings, surrendering two runs.

Alabama starter Zane Adams worked six innings. He yielded four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks.

Arkansas will send Tate McGuire to the mound in the series finale. Alabama counters with Myles Upchurch.

The finale is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday on SEC Network+. The Razorbacks will pursue a sweep in Tuscaloosa.
