Inzaghi Revamps Al Hilal’s Local Roster with Exciting Changes

Simone Inzaghi, the head coach of Al-Hilal, has made pivotal adjustments to the team’s local roster aimed at enhancing their competitive edge. These changes follow the submission to the Professionalism and Player Status Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.

Roster Changes for Al-Hilal

One notable exclusion from the Roshan League roster is Uruguayan forward Darwin Núñez. Inzaghi has opted to register Núñez solely for the AFC Champions League, aligning with strategic team objectives.

On the other hand, Inzaghi has welcomed Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo into the squad. He joins a group of elite foreign players, bolstering Al-Hilal’s attack as they prepare for upcoming competitions.

Current Foreign Player List

  • Malcom
  • Karim Benzema
  • Theo Hernandez
  • Yassine Bounou
  • Kalidou Koulibaly
  • Ruben Neves
  • Sergej Savic
  • Marcos Leonardo

In addition to foreign players, Al-Hilal has also registered French goalkeeper Mathieu Patouillet and Turkish defender Yusuf Akcicek under the birth category. Young talents Simon Bouabri and Kader Meti are listed under the under-21 category.

Roster Regulations

According to the Professional Committee’s regulations, Al-Hilal can register up to 12 foreign players locally. However, only eight can be selected for each match in the Roshan League. In comparison, ten players are allowed for the King’s Cup tournament.

These significant adjustments showcase Inzaghi’s commitment to optimizing Al-Hilal’s performance as they compete in various leagues this season. The strategic inclusion of young talent alongside seasoned professionals signals a progressive approach to team dynamics.
