Former footballer paddy lacey is among four men charged with attempted murder after a man in his 20s was shot on a driveway in Huyton in late November. Paddy Lacey charged with offences
Patrick Lacey, 32, of Manor Avenue, Crosby, has been charged with attempted murder and a series of related offences. The formal charges include conspiracy to murder; possession of a shotgun and ammunition with intent to endanger life; section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH); and conspiracy to cause GBH. Three other men have been charged alongside him: John Jones, 35; John Hughes, 31; and Bernard Flynn, 61.
Shooting on Radway Road
The charges relate to a shooting on Radway Road in Huyton on Friday, November 28. The victim, a man in his 20s, was shot on a driveway at about 22: 20 GMT on that night, which is approximately 5: 20 PM ET on Friday, November 28, and was taken to hospital in a critical condition with serious leg injuries. Local investigators describe the incident as involving multiple attackers.
Arrests and court timetable
Warrants were carried out across Knowsley, Sefton and Liverpool on Thursday, February 19, and four people were arrested and later charged. All four are due to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton and St Helens Adult Remand Court on Friday, February 20 (ET). Police statements say the case remains under active investigation and further action will follow as investigators assess incoming information.

Lacey began his career at Tranmere Rovers and later spent time in the youth academies of Manchester United and Liverpool before playing as a midfielder for clubs including Accrington Stanley and Flint Town United. He has also competed as a boxer.
Detective Inspector Chris Clark from the firearms investigation team urged the public to come forward with information: “These coordinated warrants were carried out as part of an ongoing investigation, and all four men will appear in court today. Our work continues, so I would ask that people who have yet to come forward still do so. Please do not assume that we already hold information. Our team will make that assessment, and will take the appropriate action. Whether you have a first-hand account, dashcam, CCTV, doorbell or other footage, come forward. ”
