- Defensive Assistant in 2021
- Defensive Backs Coach in 2023
- Safeties Coach in 2022
During his time in Detroit, Duker garnered praise for his defensive acumen. Glenn highlighted his aggressive approach and belief that Duker’s energy will elevate the team’s defense.
Previous Experience
Before joining the Dolphins, Duker served as their pass game coordinator and secondary coach over the last two seasons. He also spent three years with the Baltimore Ravens from 2018 to 2020. His roles there included:
- Defensive Staff Assistant/Coaching Analyst (1 season)
- Defensive Coaching Analyst (2 seasons)
His NFL journey began in 2015 with the Cleveland Browns as a defensive intern. During that time, Glenn was serving as the assistant secondary and cornerbacks coach.
Career Progression
Following his stint with the Browns, Duker joined the San Francisco 49ers in 2016 as a defensive analyst under defensive coordinator Jim O’Neil. His coaching career initiated at Bryant University in 2011 as a defensive graduate assistant. He also gained further experience at the University of Missouri, focusing on recruiting and defensive quality control from 2013 to 2014.
The Jets are optimistic that Brian Duker’s extensive background and proven track record will provide the defensive unit with the necessary tools for success in the coming seasons.
