A one-person theatrical work about an Italian immigrant will arrive in Rosario on Friday, June 19, at 19:00, when Parada Argentina, Storia di un Tano is presented with free admission at ECU – Espacio Cultural Universitario.
The performance, suitable for audiences 12 and older, will take place at San Martín 750 and brings a story of memory and identity to a public venue in the city at no cost.
Angelo D´Agosta performs the piece, which is directed by Pamela Toscano. The show uses live actors alongside puppets made of foam rubber and paper mache, and it is performed in cocoliche, mixing Italian, Spanish and Sicilian in a format that turns the immigrant story away from a conventional stage presentation.
That choice is the center of the production’s appeal. Rather than present the tale as straight drama, the work leans on language and handmade figures to frame the life of a newcomer and the cultural fragments that follow migration across generations. Presented by Personas mayores UNR, it is billed as an invitation to approach memory, identity and the stories that build culture.
For Rosario audiences, the practical details are simple: the event is free, the venue is central, and the curtain rises at 19:00 on June 19. What remains unknown is how long the performance will run, but the slot itself is fixed, and the show’s unusual form gives it a clear identity before the first line is spoken.
