Tornado Kansas City: Severe weather possible Saturday evening

Severe weather was possible in the Kansas City area Saturday evening, but the threat was expected to move out by around 10 PM to midnight. That left a short window for storms to affect the region before conditions settled down overnight.

Saturday night was forecast to turn cooler with a low of 59 degrees and north wind at 10 to 15 mph. The timing matters because the risk was tied to the evening hours, not into the deeper overnight period, when the severe weather was expected to be exiting.

Sunday was expected to bring partly to mostly cloudy skies, along with cooler and less humid air. The high was forecast near 75 degrees, with north wind again at 10 to 15 mph, giving the Kansas City area a calmer, more comfortable start to the new week after the evening weather threat.

Monday should stay partly cloudy and comfortable, with a low of 57 degrees and a high of 79 degrees. West wind around 10 mph was expected, keeping the pattern mild after the earlier weekend storm chance. The forecast leaves one thing unresolved: whether severe weather actually developed Saturday evening before it moved out.
