Diablo Season 14 PTR opens June 2 to preview Pandemonium Ruptures, Mythic Uniques

will open the from June 2 at 10:00 a.m. PDT until June 9 at 10:00 a.m. PDT so players can test the major changes coming in Diablo for the base game.

The PTR will surface the new seasonal systems across both Eternal and Seasonal Realms, and it previews a package of features Blizzard said the next season will focus on: Solo Self Found, new seasonal features, Mythic Uniques 3.0, and Tower and Leaderboards rewards as those systems move out of Beta.

The headline gameplay addition for Season 14 is a map-wide arcane system: divide Sanctuary and Pandemonium. There are three types of Pandemonium Ruptures; they call new families of monsters, create the chance to summon a familiar boss, and open fresh loot paths in a new one-room mini-dungeon called the Deathtoll Chamber.

Pandemonium Ruptures open when players kill the guardians around Death's Head Idols, which creates an open Rupture and casts a ritual ring. The longer a Rupture stays open, the more rewards it yields. Players keep Ruptures active by killing monsters and closing Tears inside them, while Rupture Goblins can appear at random and open additional Ruptures.

Realmwalkers have reappeared across Sanctuary and can be summoned by completing different types of Pandemonium Ruptures; defeating a Realmwalker opens a portal to the Deathtoll Chamber. The Deathtoll Chamber can also be found inside a Nightmare Dungeon that has the Rupture affix after players close enough Tears within Ruptures.

The Deathtoll Chamber is the best source for Betrayer's Husks, an item required to open the Seasonal Lair Boss’s Hoard in Torment I+ content. During the PTR, players who have reached Torment I+ can face a Corrupted Reaper Lair Boss that appears at the entrance of the Pandemonium Threshold in Zarbinzet. After Season 14 launches, that seasonal Lair Boss will be available through the Season Campaign and will require Betrayer's Husks to access its rewards cache.

Blizzard says the seasonal Lair Boss gives the best direct drop chances for both Mythic Uniques and the Mythic Unique Upgrade currency compared with other activities. Alongside these new encounters, Season 14 overhauls Mythic Items: every Unique can now be Mythic because Mythic is a modifiable Item Quality rather than a fixed rarity. Mythic Uniques will have their Unique Powers increased by 30 percent, and any Unique can drop as a Mythic or be upgraded into one.

Monsters tied to the new systems include the Risen family’s Gravehounds, which now appear out of Ruptures and inside the Deathtoll Chamber; when killed they drop orbs that empower a new enemy called the Exarch, which absorbs any orbs that float toward it. Those mechanics, plus Rupture timing and the new Lair Boss rewards, are all on the PTR checklist.

The PTR exists to let Blizzard test updates and features before the next season launches; the company says feedback from the PTR will be used to fine-tune balance changes and eliminate bugs. That matters now because the changes on test are systemic—affecting itemization, seasonal loops, and endgame reward pacing across both Eternal and Seasonal Realms.

The tension is obvious: turning Mythic into an item quality that can touch every Unique and boosting Unique Powers by 30 percent could dramatically reshape power curves and loot value. The PTR is the only window players have to stress-test those shifts and the new Pandemonium systems before they go live.

If you want to influence how diablo season 14 ultimately plays, play the PTR between June 2 and June 9 and report issues; Blizzard will use that feedback to balance the sweeping Mythic changes and the Pandemonium loop ahead of the season launch.
