Doncaster Car Dealership Liquidates Assets After Entering Administration
The Volkswagen and Skoda dealership Hayselden, located in Doncaster, is liquidating its assets after entering administration just before Christmas. This decision follows an announcement made to staff on December 5, when they were informed that the dealership would close immediately, leaving many without jobs.
Details of the Asset Liquidation
The auction features the complete contents of Hayselden, which have been meticulously catalogued for an online sale. Auction items include:
- Official Volkswagen AG parts
- New tyres
- Workshop tools and lifts
- Showroom fixtures like lighting, screens, sofas, and displays
- A notable inclusion is an artificial Christmas tree
Staff Reaction to Closure
Employees expressed their dismay over the sudden closure, particularly given the timing. Many felt abandoned, especially those with up to 40 years of service. One staff member shared concerns with the Doncaster Free Press, saying, “All the staff are gutted – everyone made redundant just before Christmas.” The emotional toll of the closure highlights the challenges faced by employees during a festive season.
Administration Process and Auction Details
FRP Advisory has been appointed as the administrator, and they enlisted Walker Singleton to manage the disposal of Hayselden’s assets. Joel Carroll, an asset specialist at Walker Singleton, noted the dealership’s significant investment in quality equipment. He anticipates considerable interest from both specialists and enthusiasts due to the high-quality tools available.
The online auction is open for bidding until 12 PM on April 23. Interested buyers will also have an opportunity to inspect the items in person at an open viewing day scheduled for April 21, from 8 AM to 2 PM.
