Cambridgeshire Man Loses £60k to Crypto Investment Scam
The victim, a Cambridgeshire man, lost around £60k after falling for a crypto investment scam. Fraudsters contacted him by phone and falsely claimed to represent an investment management company.
He was encouraged to download a banking app to facilitate the supposed investments. That action allowed the scammers to take full control of his accounts.
They moved thousands of pounds from his bank accounts. They also gained access to his pension funds.
Police officers are liaising with the victim. Safeguarding measures are now in place to protect him.
