Macy’s Pittsburgh Mills Closure Date Announced
The Macy’s store at Pittsburgh Mills will close on April 26, marking the end of nearly 18 years of retail service. This Frazer location opened in 2005 and is part of a larger downsizing initiative by Macy’s, which plans to close a total of 150 stores this year.

Shoppers are urged to note that all sales are final, and returns will not be accepted. A recent Facebook video highlighted the store’s remaining merchandise and noted that “morale is a little low and supplies are exceptionally high.”
Store Fixture Sales and Employee Impact

The 12-acre Macy’s property in Pittsburgh Mills was formerly owned by Macy’s, but it was sold to Namdar Realty Group for $2 million earlier this year. Namdar acquired the mall in 2018 and has seen tenant departures including Dick’s Sporting Goods and JoAnn Fabrics.
The mall is now primarily anchored by GQT Theatres and MAC Discount, alongside approximately 20 smaller tenants. In recent years, Namdar Realty has faced scrutiny for poor property maintenance and has incurred significant local fines for issues like potholes and broken facilities.
Legal Challenges for Namdar Realty
In March, Namdar faced a nonjury trial regarding allegations of creating a public nuisance. This charge stemmed from the condition of the mall’s infrastructure. The next status conference related to this issue is set for May 11.
