Glentoran Football Club has secured the signing of Josh Daniels on a long-term contract. This move follows the mutual termination of his contract with The New Saints, where he enjoyed significant success. At 29 years old, Daniels returns to Northern Ireland, having previously built a formidable career in Welsh football.

Josh Daniels: Career Overview

Originally from Londonderry/Derry, Daniels began his football journey in junior leagues before joining Derry City. During his time with the Candystripes, he made 72 senior appearances across three seasons.

In 2017, he moved to Glenavon, where he enjoyed a successful stint in the NIFL Premiership. Over 91 league appearances, Daniels scored 15 goals and assisted 14 times, showcasing his capabilities and attracting attention from other clubs.

In 2020, Daniels signed with Shrewsbury Town, where he made 50 appearances across several competitions, including League One and domestic cups. His time in England set the stage for his later successes in Wales.

Success with The New Saints

Joining The New Saints in 2022, Daniels found considerable success, contributing to the team’s impressive record. He made 119 appearances, netting 11 goals and providing over 30 assists. His tenure included:
