What executives say

Lord Sugar described the project as unlike previous specials. He noted celebrities will face real business pressure. He added the cash prize will raise money for good causes.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning, said the show raises the stakes. She emphasised leadership, teamwork and commercial instincts will be tested. She called the format bold and unpredictable.

Context and broadcast

Previous celebrity editions were typically short charity specials. Those spin-offs often supported Comic Relief and Sport Relief. Last year the BBC aired a two-part special featuring AJ Odudu and Jake Wood.

The new series will be shown on BBC One and iPlayer. A transmission date has not yet been announced.

Filmogaz.com will follow developments and share further announcements as dates and episode details emerge. The lineup mixes Love Island and Emmerdale stars with performers from music, radio and comedy, marking the BBC’s inaugural full-length Celebrity Apprentice season.
