TV Stars Partner with Bread Company to Fight Hunger

Television veterans Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl made a public appearance at a Kroger store in Atlanta this week. They greeted shoppers while promoting their new bake-at-home brand, Duffy’s Dough.

Store appearances and schedule

The pair visited the Glenwood Kroger at 800 Glenwood Avenue Southeast. They will appear this afternoon at the Terrell Mill Kroger, 1310 Powers Ferry Road in Marietta.

Fans can meet them and get autographs during the scheduled window. Product samples will be available for shoppers.

Products and origins of the line

Duffy’s Dough launches within the Kroger Atlanta Division. The line includes five bake-at-home items crafted from a family sourdough starter.

  • Sourdough Loaf
  • Multigrain Sourdough Loaf
  • Artisan Sandwich Roll
  • French Dinner Roll
  • Sourdough Demi Baguette

Heritage behind the starter

Patrick Duffy says his mother received the starter decades ago. He traces it back to a starter passed down by Alaska Gold Rush-era bakers.

Charitable pledge and local partnership

The founders pledge 100% of profits to hunger relief efforts. Kroger will also make a donation to Meals on Wheels Atlanta during the in-store event.

The effort illustrates a larger theme: TV Stars Partner with Bread Company to Fight Hunger.
