In Nikko, he began the final round seven strokes behind leader Taisei Shimizu.

Ninety-one players are set to compete, including reigning champion Rory McIlroy.

Both players attended Tohoku Fukushi University in Sendai.

He stressed the importance of putting and aiming for the center of greens.
Kataoka plans to get up and down in one putt when possible.
