Yaxel Lendeborg Injury Updates Ahead of National Championship Tipoff

Indianapolis — Michigan forward Yaxel Lendeborg and UConn guard Solo Ball are expected to play Monday in the NCAA title game at Lucas Oil Stadium. Both players arrived with their teams and joined pregame warmups hours before the scheduled 8:50 p.m. tipoff.

Early Yaxel Lendeborg injury updates show the Michigan forward practiced fully. UConn’s Solo Ball also completed all warmups after a late-game injury in the Final Four.

Injury timelines

Ball suffered a sprained foot during UConn’s Final Four win over Illinois. Team staff monitored him through the weekend.

Lendeborg sustained a bone bruise, a sprained MCL and a left ankle issue in Michigan’s game against Arizona. He received treatment but was cleared to warm up.

Warmup observations

Lendeborg took the court as a full participant. He wore only athletic tape on his left knee during drills.

Ball went through the Huskies’ full pregame routine. Coaches and trainers appeared satisfied with his mobility.

Roster and reporting

Both players were listed as starters on the game card. Neither name appeared on the pregame injury report.

Michigan coach Dusty May told TBS’ Tracy Wolfson that Lendeborg will start. The announcement confirmed both teams’ plans heading into the national championship tipoff.
