On The Drew Barrymore Show, Zendaya responded directly when asked if season three would be the last. She answered in the affirmative more than once.
She reflected on the show’s impact. Zendaya said the series “cracked my heart open” and that Rue taught her about empathy and redemption. Zendaya hinted at the show’s ending after season three and added, “I owe it all.”

HBO has not issued an official statement about whether season three will be the final season. The network remained publicly silent at the time of Zendaya’s appearance.
The third season spans eight episodes. It premieres this Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO and HBO Max, following a four-year hiatus.

Creator Sam Levinson used the break to alter the series timeline. He aged the ensemble by five years and moved them past high school.
