Lords of the Fallen Receives Major PS5 Update Ahead of PS Plus Debut

The action RPG, Lords of the Fallen, has received a significant update ahead of its inclusion in the PS Plus lineup for April 2023. The updates have notably improved the game since its initial release. Developer CI Games aims to enhance cooperative gameplay experiences with this latest patch.

Significant Co-op Improvements In Latest Update

The newest update primarily focuses on enhancing co-op play. Players can now enjoy several new features that improve teamwork and progression. Below are the key changes:

Shared Progression Enhancements

Guest players can now upgrade equipment, including the Sanguinarix and Umbral Lamp.
Interaction with Vendor NPCs is now available for both players.
Guests can initiate boss battles, socket upgrade items, and skip cutscenes.
Players can rest and warp between Vestiges, increasing gameplay flow.

Non-Shared Progression Options

In Non-Shared Progression co-op, hosts can dictate whether guest players have full or limited privileges:

Limited Privileges: Guests can use Chrysalis Rebirth, rest at Vestiges, and socket upgrade items.
Full Privileges: They can perform all actions available in Limited Privileges, plus additional capabilities like planting Vestige seeds.

Improved Matchmaking

Joining forces with other players has also been streamlined. To initiate a co-op session:

Visit any Vestige and access the Multiplayer menu.
Set a password and share it with your friend to ensure both players have the same settings.
For open matchmaking, leave the password field empty.

Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements

This update addresses various bugs and enhances performance:

Clients can now socket Umbral Eyes and runes more reliably.
The character level issue after using Rebirth Chrysalis has been fixed.
DualSense controller functionality has improved on Steam versions.
Performance upgrades for Steam Deck users.
