Johnny Depp Launches Three Hearts Rum, Captivating Spirits Enthusiasts

Johnny Depp has launched a Caribbean rum brand called Three Hearts. The project was unveiled on 6 April 2026.

Launch and collaborators

Depp partnered with longtime friend Bobby DeLeon for the release. The actor is best known for his role in Pirates of the Caribbean.

At 62, Depp cited a decades-long connection to the Caribbean. He said, “Rum holds the history of the islands.”

Design and symbolism

Depp personally sketched the bottle shape and its illustrations. The design draws on motifs from his tattoos and personal tributes.

The bottle is embossed with a skull, a lightning bolt, and three hearts. Those hearts represent Vanessa Paradis and his children Lily-Rose Depp and Jack Depp.

The top includes a bracelet-style charm. The base carries the brand motto: “No Fear. No Malice. No Envy.”

Production and tasting

Three Hearts Rum is produced at a distillery in the Dominican Republic. The liquid spent five years in ex-bourbon barrels.

It was then re-casked for two years in former cognac barrels. Bobby DeLeon described the flavour as sticky toffee.

DeLeon noted aromas of wood, spices, candied orange, and vanilla. These tasting notes were shared in an interview with Forbes.

Industry context

The launch joins many celebrity-led spirit lines. Examples include Beyoncé’s SirDavis Whisky and Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation Gin.

Other recent celebrity spirits include Margot Robbie’s Papa Salt Coastal gin, Brad Pitt’s The Gardener Gin, and George Clooney’s Casamigos Tequila. The move fits a broader trend in the drinks market.
