BBC Delays Silent Witness Season 29 Following Real-Life Incident

The BBC has made the decision to delay two episodes of Silent Witness Season 29 following a real-life incident in Birmingham. This postponement affects the third and fourth episodes of the much-anticipated series.

Birmingham Incident Leads to Delays in Silent Witness

On February 9, the third episode of Silent Witness, part one of a two-part storyline titled “The Enemy Within,” was scheduled to air on BBC One. However, it was pulled from the lineup. In its place, viewers saw the fifth episode of the season broadcast instead.

The following day, February 10, the fourth episode was also delayed and replaced by the sixth episode. The storyline revolves around a high-stakes forensic investigation into a stabbing incident in Birmingham.

Real-Life Violence Affects BBC Schedule

The BBC’s decision was influenced by a serious incident that occurred over the weekend in Birmingham, where two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, were attacked with a machete. A spokesperson from the BBC commented, “Due to the attack in Birmingham over the weekend, this week’s episodes of Silent Witness will not transmit as planned and instead have been replaced with two episodes from later on in the series.”

Sneak Peek into Season 29
