WBD Studios Spotlight Cortina, Livigno for Exceptional Games Coverage

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has unveiled innovative studios in Italy, intended to provide exceptional games coverage for the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. The two main locations, WBD House in Cortina d’Ampezzo and the Snow Dome in Livigno, will deliver live broadcasts to millions across Europe, enhancing the viewer experience with advanced technology and stunning scenic views.

WBD House in Cortina d’Ampezzo

The WBD House is strategically located in the heart of the Olympic Village. This modern two-story facility spans 600 square meters and comprises 217 pieces of steel and glass. Its design integrates high-resolution cameras positioned outside the building, allowing viewers breathtaking views of the surrounding Dolomites.

  • Key Facilities:
    • Main studio space: 600 m²
    • Number of cameras: 12, including jib cameras and drones
    • 90-person production crew
  • Viewpoints:
    • Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium
    • Tofane Alpine Skiing Centre
    • Cortina Sliding Center (1,750 m track)

This setup includes two “stand-up” positions designated for interviews with athletes and special guests during the 19 days of competition. Remarkably, the studio was constructed in just three weeks, utilizing some recycled materials from previous Olympic events.

Snow Dome in Livigno

The Snow Dome is another significant addition, offering a unique 360-degree view of the slopes frequented by top snowboarders and skiers. Built in partnership with the local organizing committee in Livigno, this six-meter-high dome encompasses an area of 95 square meters, allowing for an immersive experience of freestyle skiing and snowboarding events.

WBD’s operations in Italy will complement existing advanced studios throughout Europe. This allows for daily production of analysis and local insights during the Games. Locations include London, Paris, Monaco, Madrid, and more.
