Stolarz Returns for Maple Leafs Clash with Golden Knights
Darcy Kuemper, the goalie for the Los Angeles Kings, is poised to return for their game against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday. This matchup is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on FDSNMW, FDSNW, and KCAL.
Kuemper’s Injury Details
Kuemper suffered an upper-body injury late in a recent game against the New York Rangers. He was injured with only 38.8 seconds remaining in the first period of a match that ended in a 4-3 victory for the Kings. The injury occurred when Rangers forward Jonny Brodzinski collided with Kuemper, forcing him to leave the game.
After the incident, Kuemper revealed, “Kind of got hit on the side of my neck, and it pinched my neck and pinched the nerves, and my arm went dead.” Following the injury, he underwent further testing before being cleared to return to play.
Roster Updates for the Kings
In addition to Kuemper, Coach Jim Hiller confirmed that forwards Trevor Moore and Anze Kopitar will join the team traveling to St. Louis. However, their participation in the game remains uncertain. Kopitar has been sidelined for eight games due to an upper-body injury, while Moore has missed eleven games for the same reason.
- Anze Kopitar: Out for 8 games (upper-body injury)
- Trevor Moore: Out for 11 games (upper-body injury)
Despite their injuries, Hiller described their traveling as a positive sign for the team.
Drew Doughty’s Return
Defenseman Drew Doughty missed the recent game against the Rangers due to illness. Fortunately, he practiced on Thursday and is expected to play in the upcoming game against the Blues.
As the Kings prepare for their contest, they are gaining momentum with the anticipated returns of key players, aiming to secure another victory on the road.
