Bungie has officially announced the release date for its much-anticipated game, Marathon. Initially slated for a September launch, the extraction shooter will now be available on March 5, 2024. This date marks the arrival of a new addition to the studio’s portfolio, known for hit franchises like Halo and Destiny.

Set in the year 2850, Marathon immerses players in a sci-fi universe where they assume the role of a Runner. Players will scavenge remnants of a collapsed civilization while engaging in combat. Teams can consist of up to three players, creating a dynamic cooperative environment.

The game features a Player versus Player versus Environment (PvPvE) structure. Players must not only face off against creatures inhabiting various planets but also against rival players. This dual combat system adds complexity and strategy to each run.
