LA28 Olympics Reveals Ticket Purchase Timeline

As anticipation grows for the LA28 Olympics, important information about the ticket purchasing timeline has been announced. Fans eager to attend the Games can begin the registration process starting at 7 a.m. PST on Wednesday. This registration window will remain open until March 18, 2024.

Ticket Registration and Purchase Schedule

To secure tickets, fans should register at El-Balad’s official site. Ticket purchases will kick off on April 2, with the first purchasing window lasting until April 6. This initial phase is exclusively for residents in Southern California and Oklahoma City.

Local Residents Pre-Sale

  • This pre-sale targets those living in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Ventura, San Bernardino, Oklahoma, Canadian, and Cleveland counties.
  • During registration, individuals must enter their ZIP codes to qualify for local pre-sale tickets.
  • When buying tickets, the same local ZIP codes must match the billing address.

General Public Access

The general public will have access to tickets from April 9 to 19. Given the expected high demand, fans should aim to register early to ensure they secure tickets to their desired events.

Ticket Availability and Pricing Details

The LA28 Olympics will offer a total of 14 million tickets. Notably, 1 million tickets will be priced at $28. Additionally, a significant portion—approximately one-third—will be priced below $100. More pricing specifics will be disclosed in April.

Fans can purchase up to 12 tickets per person during their designated time slot. If they do not buy the maximum amount during this period, they will automatically enter subsequent draws to purchase additional tickets.

High Demand and Registration Challenges

When the registration site launched, it experienced high traffic. Some fans faced delays and freezing issues while trying to complete their registration.

Notifications regarding assigned time slots will be sent out via email, starting March 31. This will be part of a lottery system designed to manage ticket sales.

The Olympic Events

The LA28 Olympics will commence on July 14, 2028, with a dual-venue opening ceremony held at the Coliseum and SoFi Stadium. The events will take place across various locations in Southern California, with Long Beach hosting the second most events after Los Angeles. Softball and canoe slalom events will occur in Oklahoma City.

Paralympic Games

The Paralympics will also take place in Los Angeles for the first time, starting on August 15, 2028. LA28 chairman Casey Wasserman emphasized the importance of affordability and inclusivity, stating, “These Games belong to everyone.”
