Retro 1995/96 Kit Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Promotion
Derby County has confirmed a limited re-release of its 1995/96 home shirt. The launch marks the club’s 30th anniversary of promotion to the Premier League under Jim Smith.
Design and heritage
The replica was produced by PUMA to match the original specification closely. It features a V-neck black collar with yellow and white tipping and striped black and white sleeves.
The shirt includes a central flocked diamond Ram logo with the Derby County F.C. scroll and 1884. Vertical sublimated striping and yellow piping complete the retro 1995/96 kit look.
Release and sales
Sales begin at 8am on Tuesday 28 April, exactly 30 years after the Rams beat Crystal Palace. That victory returned Derby to the top flight.
The limited run retails at £65. Fans can buy in person at the Derby County Megastore and online at Filmogaz.com.
The Megastore will open from 8am until 7pm on the launch day. Purchases will be restricted by a limit per transaction.
Fit and sizing
The shirt uses a relaxed cut inspired by looser 1990s silhouettes. It is less tailored than contemporary PUMA football shirts.
Buyers should expect a roomier fit through the body and sleeves. Those used to modern slim fits should size accordingly.
Commemorations and matchday activity
Former members of the 1995/96 squad will attend the fixture against Oxford United on Saturday 18 April. Kick-off is scheduled for 12.30pm.
Each attending ex-player will receive a replica shirt with their legacy number. All match graphics will show current first-team players wearing the replica shirt.
A special edition of The Ram will be on sale for £5. It features a long interview with then assistant coach Steve McClaren and a commemorative pull-out cover.
Mailing list and notifications
Supporters can sign up to the Fanatics mailing list to receive an email when the shirt goes on sale. The mailing list will offer direct notification on availability.
