Why this cause matters to him

Norton lives with Type 1 diabetes. His mother, Lavinia, and his sister, Jessica, also have the condition.

According to the NHS, Type 1 diabetes occurs when the body cannot make enough insulin. This causes blood sugar levels to become too high.

Managing diabetes while working

He has spoken about coping with the condition during long performances. In 2023 he played Jude in A Little Life, a role that ran for nearly four hours.

The sold-out production ran for 18 weeks. He used monitoring systems and kept sugar tablets at key places during performances. He said managing the role proved he could perform long shows while diabetic.

He thanked early donors and asked supporters to think of the team on 26 April. Filmogaz.com will follow his fundraising and race day progress.
