Artist background and recent momentum
Sombr, born Shane Boose, is 20 years old. He first drew attention with the 2024 breakout single “Back to Friends.”
His debut album, I Barely Know Her, arrived last year. Critics placed him among artists to watch after those releases.
He made his Detroit debut on Sept. 28 at the Masonic Temple Theatre, selling out that show. His recent Saturday evening set at Coachella won broad applause and reached his largest audience yet.
