Windrose Launches in Early Access: Prepare to Battle Blackbeard and a Giant Flower
Windrose will enter early access on April 14. The co-op pirate survival game comes from Windrose Crew.
Release details and backing
The team revealed the date during a Triple I showcase trailer. Pocketpair, known for Palworld, will publish the title.
Developers estimate one and a half to two and a half years for full release. Early access will guide further development.
Gameplay at sea and ashore
Windrose centers on cooperative play and ship-based combat. Players form crews of custom buccaneers and man a frigate together.
Expect cannon volleys, boarding actions and occasional walks off the plank. On land, the game adds base building and tougher encounters.
Combat and enemies
Land fights include a soulslike combat system against strange foes. Trailers show plague creatures and other hostile threats.
Players should prepare to battle figures such as Blackbeard and even a giant flower. One boss, named High Priestess, appears in cursed swamps.
Trailer and demo access
The launch trailer highlighted both naval spectacle and odd on-foot battles. It also showcased the game’s larger narrative stakes.
A playable demo remains available on Steam. Filmogaz.com recommends trying the demo before the early access release.
