HGTV and ‘Idol’ Shine; ‘Reggie’ and ‘Wild Cards’ Finales Conclude
Television networks roll out a packed slate this week. New competition seasons and dramatic finales anchor broadcast and cable schedules.
HGTV’s Rock the Block returns for season seven
The channel’s top competition is back in Las Vegas. Teams rebuild matching homes on a single cul-de-sac.
Each pair has seven weeks and a $275,000 budget. The winning duo will receive a street named in their honor.
Pairings mix HGTV stars with celebrities. Scott McGillivray teams with Brooke Hogan. Taniya Nayak works alongside Drew Lachey.
Mina Starsiak Hawk joins Vernon Davis. Kim Spradlin-Wolfe partners with Chelsea Meissner. Judges Lisa Vanderpump and Nick Alain evaluate the two-hour opener.
Idol special reveals Hall of Fame class
A special episode of American Idol will announce the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 2026. The Top 11 performers cover songs from Hall of Famers.
Among the nominees are Mariah Carey, Phil Collins, Lauryn Hill, and Billy Idol. The long list also includes Sade, Shakira, Wu-Tang Clan, and Iron Maiden.
The broadcast doubles as a celebration and a reveal. Expect tributes and performances tied to the induction news and the ‘Idol’ Shine moment.
The Fall & Rise finale
The Fall & Rise of Reggie Dinkins reaches a two-part Season 1 climax. Tracy Morgan stars as the disgraced former NFL player.
Reggie enlists filmmaker Arthur Tobin, played by Daniel Radcliffe. The plan aims to restore Reggie to the Hall of Fame ballot.
But nemesis Jerry Basmati, portrayed by Craig Robinson, works against him. The episodes air back-to-back to conclude the season arc.
Wild Cards developments
The third season of Wild Cards turns darker. Max, played by Vanessa Morgan, is kidnapped by Varga’s crew.
Her partner Ellis, portrayed by Giacomo Gianniotti, teams up with Max’s con-artist relatives. Their goal is to free Varga’s brother Artie from federal custody.
Ellis poses as an air marshal while Max’s dad George, played by Jason Priestley, acts as a planted prisoner. The tense setup drives the ‘Wild Cards’ Finales Conclude storyline.
