Wizz Air Opens New Turin Base for Spanish and Italian Routes

Wizz Air will establish a new base at Torino-Caselle Airport, expanding its European footprint. The low-cost carrier aims to strengthen Spanish and Italian routes from Turin.

Base details

Two Airbus A321neo aircraft will be stationed at TRN. The first aircraft arrives in September 2026 and the second in October.

This marks Wizz Air’s seventh base in Italy. Existing Italian bases include Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa, Venice-Marco Polo, Catania, Naples and Palermo.

Route network from Torino

Services will focus on Spanish and Italian destinations. Frequencies vary by city and launch dates span late 2026.

  • Rome Fiumicino (FCO): 11 weekly flights; service begins 14 September 2026.
  • Barcelona (BCN): daily flights; service begins 14 September 2026.
  • Naples (NAP): daily flights; route will roll out by December 2026.
  • Madrid (MAD): four weekly flights; phased launch through December 2026.
  • Valencia (VLC): four weekly flights; phased launch through December 2026.
  • Malaga (AGP): three weekly flights; phased launch through December 2026.
  • Bilbao (BIO): three weekly flights; service begins 14 September 2026.

Three services start on 14 September 2026. The remaining routes will be introduced progressively through December 2026.

Existing presence at Torino

Wizz Air already operates multiple routes to Torino. In 2025 its Turin activity recorded 2,100 movements and carried over 450,000 passengers.

Italy is a core market for Wizz Air. The airline bases 40 aircraft in the country.

In 2025 Wizz Air carried about 21 million passengers to and from Italian airports. For 2026 it plans to offer up to 27 million seats.
