Sorrento Expands Evening Ztl Hours with Electronic Gate Checks Starting April 1

Starting April 1, Sorrento expands evening Ztl hours and introduces electronic gate checks to manage city-centre traffic. The measure runs through October 25 and aims to regulate vehicles during the busiest months.

Operating days and hours

The restricted-traffic zone will be active every day. Evening controls run from 19:30 until 04:00 the following morning.

On public holidays, authorities add a morning control window. That window lasts from 10:00 to 13:00.

Entry monitoring and locations

Access to the zone will be monitored by electronic gates at key points in the centre. These devices will check vehicles entering the controlled area.

  • Via Fuorimura
  • At the start of Viale Caruso
  • Along Corso Italia, near the Chiesa del Carmine
  • Via Correale, close to the Achille Lauro municipal car park
  • Via San Francesco, at the intersection with Via Luigi De Maio

Authorizations and permits

Drivers must hold a valid permit to enter the restricted area. Annual permits are reserved for residents, workers, and other categories defined by municipal rules.

Temporary authorizations are available for documented, specific access needs. Applicants must provide proof of necessity for short-term permits.
