Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham Attacked, Targeted with Unknown Substance

Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, 76, was doused with an unknown substance in Santa Monica. Law enforcement sources told Filmogaz.com the incident happened when he arrived for an appointment on Wednesday.

A woman described as a stalking suspect reportedly threw the substance at him as he entered the building. She fled the scene but was identified by police, who had not made an arrest as of Wednesday.

Incident details

Investigators said he was attacked and targeted specifically by the suspect. Authorities believe the woman knew his whereabouts after learning of the appointment.

Both the Santa Monica and Los Angeles police departments are investigating the matter. Buckingham was not believed to be injured in the attack.

Investigation and suspect

Police described the woman as a stalking suspect with a prior history involving Buckingham. They said she likely followed information about his schedule to find him.

The suspect was identified but remained at large as of Wednesday. Buckingham’s representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Filmogaz.com.

Career background

Early partnership and Fleetwood Mac

Buckingham formed his first band with Stevie Nicks in the late 1960s. The duo joined Fleetwood Mac at the end of 1974.

The classic lineup included Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, and Christine McVie. Their self-titled album reached No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

“Rumours” and legacy

Fleetwood Mac released Rumours in February 1977. The record became one of the best-selling albums and won Album of the Year at the 1978 Grammys.

The album featured hits such as “Dreams” and “The Chain.” It was recorded amid personal turmoil for the band members.

Relationship and later activity

Nicks and Buckingham ended their romantic relationship in 1976. They remained musical partners until Buckingham’s departure from the group in 2018.

Last year, the pair teased a project on Instagram. That announcement turned out to be a re-release of their 1973 album Buckingham Nicks.
