The tragic incident occurred on February 27, when Jaggers, based at the Astoria Air Station in Oregon, was part of a helicopter medical evaluation team responding to an emergency approximately 120 nautical miles from Cape Flattery, Washington. During the rescue operation, he sustained severe injuries, which ultimately led to his death.

Rescue Efforts and Medical Treatment

Immediately after the incident, Jaggers was airlifted to Victoria General Hospital in British Columbia for critical care. Unfortunately, medical staff determined he would not survive his injuries. He was placed on life support and later transported back to the United States via Coast Guard aircraft.
