Igor Komarov appears in chilling ransom footage
The missing man has been identified as Igor Komarov, 28, who was holidaying in Bali when investigators say he was abducted. Unverified footage circulating online appears to show a man believed to be Komarov bruised and pleading for money; in the clip he says: “We stole those $10 million they’re asking you for. Give them back those $10 million. Please. ” The same clip includes the line, “I’ll give everything back to everyone we stole from, I’ll give everything back to everyone. ” Another unverified video shows a man claiming to be Komarov admitting involvement in a bank account “scamming” business. Police have not confirmed the authenticity of the videos and have not confirmed whether Komarov is alive.
Seven suspects detained after vehicles traced to Tabanan villa
Bali Police confirmed arrests after investigators traced vehicles seen in CCTV footage to a villa in Tabanan regency, where they believe a ransom video was recorded. Senior Commissioner Ariasandy said officers first detained a foreign national with the initials CH, who allegedly attempted to flee using a false passport and had rented vehicles linked to the case. "Initially, we secured one foreign national with the initials CH, who rented vehicles using a false passport, " Ariasandy said in Denpasar. "Following further investigation, we named six other foreign nationals as suspects: RM, BK, AS, VN, SM and DH. All are men. " Forensic teams reportedly found bloodstains at the property and inside one of the rented vehicles.

Forensic teams take DNA, note tattoo; mother’s DNA to be checked
On February 27, 2026, at 11: 04 a. m. ET, Bali police representative Kombes Ariasandi said DVI specialists, forensic services, and a criminal laboratory took DNA samples from the recovered body fragments. In parallel, and in cooperation with the Ukrainian consulate, a DNA sample will be taken from the mother of the missing Ukrainian (initials I. K. ) for further matching. Ariasandi cautioned that it is currently not possible to confirm that the remains belong to I. K., adding: "We must act solely on the basis of scientific investigation, the results of forensic examination, and other evidence. " During an initial examination, investigators found a tattoo in the form of a clock with Roman numerals on one of the hand fragments, but due to significant decomposition experts could not determine the sex of the deceased. A preliminary forensic assessment said death could have occurred more than three days earlier. Law enforcement officers continue to examine the scene for other possible fragments.
Who was traveling with Komarov and how authorities were alerted
Komarov was reportedly traveling with his girlfriend, Ukrainian lifestyle influencer Yeva Mishalova, 25, and a friend when the incident occurred. That friend reportedly managed to escape and alert authorities, prompting the response that led investigators to the Tabanan villa and to trace the vehicles linked to the case.
Investigators continue to examine possible links between the alleged kidnapping, the ransom footage and the human remains discovered on the island. Police have emphasized that conclusions will be drawn only after scientific and forensic work is complete; DNA testing and forensic results are the next confirmed milestones in the inquiry.
