Igor Komarov: DNA tests and arrests after body fragments found in Bali

A 28-year-old Ukrainian tourist has gone missing in Bali in what authorities describe as an alleged kidnapping, and investigators are carrying out DNA testing after mutilated body parts were recovered. The missing man, igor komarov, is at the center of a probe that has yielded arrests, CCTV leads, disturbing videos and forensic examinations.

Investigation into Igor Komarov case

Bali Police confirmed arrests as investigators probe a suspected ransom plot and disturbing videos circulating online. Police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Ariasandy said officers first detained a foreign national with the initials CH, whom officers secured in Denpasar after an alleged attempt to flee using a false passport. Ariasandy said: “Initially, we secured one foreign national with the initials CH, who rented vehicles using a false passport. ” Following further investigation, six other foreign nationals were named as suspects: RM, BK, AS, VN, SM and DH. All are men.

Ketewel Beach and Wos River findings

Mutilated human body parts were discovered near the Wos River estuary, and local residents found body parts — a head, a right leg, fragments of a rib cage, a thigh, and part of internal organs — on February 26 at the mouth of the Wos River. All remains were transported to RSUP Prof IGNG Ngoerah Hospital in Denpasar for forensic examination. On February 27 2026 at 11: 04 AM a dispatch noted 16474 views for coverage of the case.

Suspects and initial detention

Investigators traced vehicles seen in CCTV footage to a villa in Tabanan regency, where they believe a ransom video was recorded. Forensic teams reportedly found bloodstains at the villa and inside one of the rented vehicles. Police have not confirmed whether the tourist is alive.

Forensic and DNA procedures

Bali police representative Kombes Ariasandi said DVI specialists, forensic services, and a criminal laboratory took DNA samples from the body fragments. In parallel, and in cooperation with the Ukrainian consulate, a DNA sample will be taken from the mother of the missing Ukrainian identified as I. K. for further matching. Ariasandi said it is currently not possible to confirm that the found remains belong to IK and emphasized that conclusions will be made only after completion of scientific examinations. “We must act solely on the basis of scientific investigation, the results of forensic examination, and other evidence, ” the statement said.

During the initial examination, investigators found a tattoo in the form of a clock with Roman numerals on one of the hand fragments. Due to the significant degree of decomposition, experts cannot even determine the sex of the deceased yet. A forensic expert made a preliminary assessment that death could have occurred more than three days ago. Law enforcement officers continue to examine the scene in search of other possible fragments.

Victim's companions and footage

The missing man has been identified as Igor Komarov, a 28-year-old Ukrainian national who was holidaying in Bali at the time of the alleged abduction. Komarov was travelling with his girlfriend, Ukrainian lifestyle influencer Yeva Mishalova, 25, and a friend when the incident occurred. The friend reportedly managed to escape and alert authorities.

Unverified footage circulating online appears to show a man believed to be Komarov bruised and pleading for money. In one clip the man says: “We stole those $10 million they’re asking you for. Give them back those $10 million. Please. ” He also says: “I’ll give everything back to everyone we stole from, I’ll give everything back to everyone. ” Another unverified video shows a man claiming to be Komarov admitting involvement in a bank account “scamming” business. Police have not confirmed the authenticity of the videos and say investigations remain ongoing; authorities continue to examine possible links between the alleged kidnapping, the ransom footage and the human remains discovered on the island. Investigators are examining whether the remains could belong to igor komarov.

Indonesian police are investigating the alleged kidnapping of Ukrainian Ihor Komarov in Bali. The man in the video asks relatives to pay a ransom of 10 million dollars.
