I think this group of Faithfuls need to go to Faithful school and perhaps that impacted some of the success. ”

Behind the gameplay, contestants have no choice when it comes to their Traitors versus Faithful status, though beginning with season two some stars like Phaedra Parks and Kate Chastain were able to plead their case to host Alan Cumming. Executive producer Mike Cotton has characterized the selection as having “a really big bearing on it, as does Alan’s opinion, ” likening the process to “almost like a job interview to be a Traitor, ” with decisions made just before the pick to ensure an interesting mix of characters and skill sets. It is not immediately clear to the cast how many Traitors there might be in any given season; Cirie Fields has said, “We knew that there could potentially be three to five Traitors in the game, ” and that that possibility “was explained to us from the very beginning. ”
