Arc Raiders Update Brings Hurricane Map, New Drones and Facial Hair
The arc raiders update arrives with a sweeping Shrouded Sky patch that adds a hurricane map condition, two new ARC threats and a seasonal project that sends Raiders topside to gather materials for a weather monitoring system; the update goes live Feb. 24 and a second Expedition window opens Feb. 25 and closes March 1.
Arc Raiders Update adds hurricane weather and a new project
The Shrouded Sky hurricane engulfs the Rust Belt with ferocious speed and low visibility, forcing Raiders to contend with howling winds, debris that damages shields, and the risk of flooding to the Tube systems. Shani will task players with collecting specific materials from topside to build a weather monitoring system, a Seasonal Player Project that rewards contributions for completing Expedition Feats.
Two new ARC enemies change topside combat
Two unique ARC machines have been spotted on the surface. The Firefly is described as a floating, armored drone that emits a jet of flame and can burn Raiders unless they find cover or move quickly. The Comet is a spherical ground machine that patrols until it locks on to a Raider and then explodes with a seismic boom. Both machines demand different tactics: quick movement and cover against the Firefly, and maintaining distance and containment against the Comet.
Surgeon Raider Deck, cosmetics and a high-value loot area
The free Surgeon Raider Deck is available with Shrouded Sky and gradually unlocks a Surgeon cosmetic as players complete the Raider Deck and earn Cred topside. Facial hair arrives with the update: the Stubble will be immediately available to all players, the Full Beard is unlockable through the Surgeon Raider Deck, and the Stubble Beard and Thick Moustache will be available in the in-game store from February 24.
A new high-security Controlled Access Zone has been uncovered in Dam Battlegrounds; Raiders will recognize the area by the Rocketeer chandelier and can expect high-value loot within. New cosmetic sets include The Volare Set and The Devotee Set, as well as a new Backpack Set and Raider Tool Set introduced with the patch.
Shani’s weather-monitoring project ties directly to the hurricane map condition: collecting and contributing materials from topside helps build the monitoring features that the update promises to improve prediction and preparedness in Speranza. The Shrouded Sky update also highlights First Wave Raider Caches unearthed along the surface, offering high-risk, high-reward targets for brave teams who venture into the storm.
Players should note concrete changes to gameplay in the hurricane: low visibility will scatter direction, debris will light up and degrade shields, and Tube flooding risk will affect topside access. These mechanical effects are part of the map-condition overhaul introduced with Shrouded Sky.
What’s next on the schedule
The Shrouded Sky update goes live Feb. 24, and the second Arc Raiders Expedition window opens on Feb. 25 and closes on March 1, giving players a week to complete the Expedition progress objectives. The Surgeon Raider Deck, the new ARC enemies Firefly and Comet, the Hurricane map condition and the new cosmetics and loot areas will all be available when the update is deployed. Players will earn Cred topside by completing Feats to unlock Surgeon rewards and contribute materials to the weather-monitoring project.
Good luck out there, Raiders: head topside to gather the materials Shani requests, avoid the Firefly’s flames and the Comet’s lock-on, and test your mettle in the hurricane for access to First Wave Raider Caches and new Expedition rewards.
