School Closures Across the GTHA

As the storm approaches, multiple school boards in the GTHA have announced closures for Monday:

  • Toronto District School Board (TDSB): All schools, sites, and administrative buildings, including child care centers, will be closed. Secondary exams slated for Monday will be postponed.
  • Toronto Catholic District School Board: All schools and board sites will close, including bus transportation and child care. Exams will be rescheduled for January 29.
  • York Region District School Board: All schools are closed. Exams scheduled for Monday will take place on Thursday, with Tuesday and Wednesday exams continuing as planned.
  • Durham Region: All schools within the Durham and Durham Catholic District School Boards are closed. Bus services have also been suspended.
  • Dufferin-Peel Region: All schools are closed. Exams scheduled for Monday will be rescheduled, while other exams will continue as planned.
  • Halton Region: Schools in both Halton District and Halton Catholic District School Boards will remain closed, with transportation services canceled.
  • Hamilton: The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board is closing all schools and facilities. All learning activities are canceled.
  • Niagara Region: The District School Board of Niagara and Niagara Catholic District School Board will close all schools and cancel bus services.

French-language School Closures

In addition to English-speaking boards, French-language schools are also affected:

  • Conseil Scolaire Viamonde: Closing schools and child care centers in York, Durham, Toronto, Peel, and Halton.
  • Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir: Some schools will also close as snow removal operations will not be completed in time.
