Tad Niblett Named Head Football Coach at Chelsea High School
Chelsea High School has officially announced the appointment of Tad Niblett as the head football coach for the Hornets. This decision received the green light from the Shelby County Board of Education. Niblett brings a wealth of experience to his new role, boasting 33 years in coaching.
Tad Niblett’s Impressive Coaching Background
Before joining Chelsea, Niblett served at Gainesville High School in Georgia. There, he was the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator. Under his leadership, the team achieved two state runner-up finishes in 2022 and 2025.
Niblett’s coaching resume also includes a notable tenure at Hoover High School. He played a significant role in leading the team to four AHSAA state championships and three runner-up titles. His experience extends to other institutions like Foley High School, Springwood School, and Central Christian.
