Tonight and Monday

Skies cleared this afternoon with brief sunshine and a few stray showers. Winds have been breezy, generally 15 to 25 mph, and will ease to 5 to 15 mph tonight. Temperatures are falling into the upper 40s and will drop into the upper 30s overnight.

Monday will be the coolest day of the short term. Expect highs near the upper 40s under a mix of clouds and sun.

Freeze Watch details

The National Weather Service issued the freeze watch for the Susquehanna Valley. The watch runs from 12 a.m. Tuesday to 9 a.m. Tuesday. Overnight lows could reach the upper 20s to low 30s across much of the area.

Residents should protect tender plants, crops, and potted vegetation before the cold arrives. Bring pots indoors or cover vulnerable landscaping.

Tuesday will remain unseasonably cool with highs in the mid to upper 50s and a light breeze. By Wednesday, milder air returns with highs near 70 and a chance of morning showers. Thursday and Friday look warmer, with highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Showers may return Saturday into Sunday. Highs will fall to the mid 60s by Sunday.
