Josie Gibson Crafts Somerset Cider in New ITV Show

A new five-part ITV series will spotlight food and drink across the West Country. Bristol-born presenter Josie Gibson co-presents with chef Paul Ainsworth.

The pair travel the region from Gloucestershire down to Cornwall. The programme visits restaurants, artisans and local producers.

On the road in Somerset

Episode two takes the team into Somerset. Josie explores the caverns at Cheddar Gorge and rides a traditional coastal train.

She learns oyster shucking and tries her hand at cider-making. Josie Gibson crafts Somerset cider with local producers on camera.

She also visits several cider farms. On one stop she meets Harry from Harry’s Cider.

Regional highlights and people

The series aims to showcase the region’s food scene. It features makers working across rolling hills, moors and coastline.

Josie praised the producers she met. She described the filming as a wholesome learning adventure and thanked local communities.

Paul Ainsworth’s contribution

Paul Ainsworth appears alongside Josie as resident chef. His Padstow restaurant, Paul Ainsworth at Number 6, earned a Michelin star in 2013.

The restaurant was also named among the UK’s top 100 this year. Ainsworth sources local ingredients and demonstrates recipe transformation on the show.

Foodie stops in Cornwall

Josie says an ideal day in Cornwall would include a visit to Jack Stein’s restaurant. She hopes to secure a table at No. 6 on a future trip.
