Surprise Recruits Confirm Attendance for Georgia Football’s G-Day Event

Georgia will host several top 2027 prospects on Saturday for its spring scrimmage. Two five-star commits will be in Athens for the G-Day event.

Top commits arriving

Five-star running back Kemon Spell is scheduled to attend. He is the nation’s top-ranked running back and committed to Georgia in early February.

Five-star cornerback Donte’ Wright will also be in town. Wright is a top-two national cornerback and lists Georgia among his choices.

Key announced visitors

Four-star tight end Jaxon Dollar is a high-profile visitor. He ranks among the nation’s top tight ends and has trended toward the Dawgs recently.

Ohio linebacker Brayton Feister picked up an offer from Georgia last month. He measures 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds, runs a reported 4.55 40-yard dash, benches 455 and squats 605.

Feister produced eye-popping junior numbers. He totaled 133 tackles, 39 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. He also ran for 1,098 yards and scored 17 rushing touchdowns.

Running back Andrew Beard returns for his third G-Day. He recently visited Georgia and still lists the Bulldogs among his top contenders alongside Clemson, Florida and Tennessee.

Quarterback Colton Nussmeier will be on campus. He is the younger brother of Garrett Nussmeier. Their father, Doug Nussmeier, is a longtime SEC and NFL coach and currently coaches quarterbacks in Philadelphia.

Implications for Georgia football

Having highly rated commits on hand helps the staff build momentum. Their presence can influence undecided recruits visiting campus.

The spring showcase also offers coaches a chance to connect with prospects. On-field access and facility tours usually shape late recruitment choices.
