2026 Spring Football Game: A Fan’s Guide Presented by Original Roofing

The University of Michigan will host an open spring practice and scrimmage at Michigan Stadium on Saturday, April 18, 2026. The Maize and Blue scrimmage is free and open to the public. The session will begin with warm-ups and drills around 2 p.m.

Entry, timing and stadium rules

Stadium gates will open to fans at 1 p.m. Fans should use Gates 2, 4, 8 and 10 for general entry. Gates 3 and 9 are reserved for patrons with medical bags or childcare needs.

No bags are permitted inside the stadium for this event. The standard prohibited-items list will be strictly enforced. All guests and belongings are subject to search.

Broadcast and audio coverage

The scrimmage will be carried on Big Ten Network’s digital platform beginning at 2 p.m. Radio coverage comes via the LEARFIELD Michigan Sports Network on WCSX (94.7 FM in Detroit).

  • Jon Jansen will provide color analysis from the press box.
  • Audio streams will be available on Filmogaz.com, the Michigan Athletics App, and the Varsity Network App.

Parking and ADA access

University-owned lots around the Big House will open at 9 a.m. and are free to the public. A limited number of accessible parking spaces will be available in Lot SC-6 at no charge.

Pioneer High School will offer parking for $36 per vehicle. The district prohibits tailgating and RVs in those lots. Fans may reserve spots in advance at MichiganGamedayParking.com.

On-site amenities

All stadium restrooms will be open and accessible for attendees. Sodexo will operate concessions with eight permanent and eight portable stands.

M Den stores will sell official Michigan apparel. Locations include the north end of the stadium and the Crisler Center near Gate 2.

Post-scrimmage coverage and interviews

The athletic department will publish highlights and interviews after the scrimmage. Fans can find post-game material on Filmogaz.com and the program’s social and digital channels.
